Illinois Animals Need Your Voice!

For the past six years, zerimax has been helping protect your dog in the car by providing quality seat belts; we have made amazing connections with our customers based on our shared love of dogs and commitment to their well being.  Now we need your help! We know that policy is our way to make a difference -- giving a voice to the voiceless.

Your Exclusive Invitation:

Join us, along the ASPCA, the Animal Welfare Institute, the Illinois Animal Welfare Federation, Born Free USA and your fellow animal advocates in Springfield on Wednesday, May 7, for Illinois Voices for Animals Day. Take advantage of the easy day trip from Chicago to Springfield for your opportunity to let state lawmakers know, in person, that you support animal protection and oppose laws that would allow animals to be hurt and exploited.

During Voices for Animals Day, you will be a voice for animals!

This event provides animal advocates with a structured, comfortable setting in which to meet their elected officials and to discuss this priority animal welfare legislation. Read more about defining "adequate shelter and protection from the weather" and the other proposed bills here.

Our group will be departing Union Station between 7 and 9 am to arrive in Springfield for an exciting day of advocacy and camaraderie. If you are interested in the Amtrak group rate, please email info@zerimax.com.

Breakfast and coffee will be provided at this year’s event. This will be a great time to get to know fellow animal advocates in Illinois!

Voices for Animals Day is a great networking activity that is critical to our lobbying efforts; it’s also invigorating, inspiring and very personally rewarding. Don’t miss out—RSVP with ASPCA today

Animal lovers! Mark your calendars for May 7th -- Lobby Day in Springfield. At zerimax, we know you make a difference in the lives of your pets everyday. And they are so lucky to have you as loving, caring pet parents. Unfortunately, thousands of animals are not treated humanely, and we need your help taking a stand.

Read through these proposed amendments to the Humane Care for Animals Act, the Wildlife Code, and other bills, and please contact your legislators.

HB3767: Prohibits the use of carbon monoxide as a euthanasia agent for companion animals.

HB4195: Provides that upon conviction of improper care, cruel treatment, aggravated cruelty, or animal torture, the court shall order the convicted person to forfeit to an animal shelter the animal(s) that are the basis of the conviction.

SB3049: Amends the Wildlife Code. Adds the Gray wolf, American black bear, and Cougar to the list of protected species under the Act.

SB3050: Provides that a veterinarian licensed in another state may practice in Illinois in connection with an investigation of animal fighting or animal cruelty laws ...Further provides that a nonprofit organization may establish a temporary facility to receive animals affected by the investigation.

HB4188: Provides that the Department of Agriculture shall create and maintain an animal abuse registry.

HB3779: Increases the penalties for convictions of cruel treatment, aggravated cruelty, and animal torture.

SB3337: Provides that each owner shall provide for each of his or her animals adequate shelter and adequate space
